Joining Eastwood Elementary are:
Amanda Thomas, Early Childhood Special Education Teacher - Amanda has served as a Head Start teacher and an Instructional Coach in her previous roles. Her background and experience will be a great asset at Eastwood!
Allyson Bennett, Kindergarten Teacher - Allyson is a Ferris State alumna and studied Early Childhood Development. She was also a Family Support Specialist at FSU Early Learning Center. She brings a wealth of knowledge and great energy to the K team.
Kandis Land, Kindergarten Teacher - You may have already met Kandis as she has worked at Riverview and Eastwood in years past, however, this is a new position for her as a teacher in the K team!
Jillaine Defever, Kindergarten Teacher - Big Rapids families probably already recognize Jillaine as she was a part of the Riverview team in the past. She is taking on a new role as a Kindergarten teacher this year at Eastwood after being a reading coach there last year.
Joining Riverview Elementary are:
Reagan Rogers, First Grade Teacher - A Class of 2015 BRHS graduate, Reagan will be joining the team at Riverview as her first teaching position. We are excited to welcome her back to BRPS!
Nicole May, Second Grade Teacher - Nicole comes to us as a graduate of Ferris State where she was on the women's soccer team and graduated in Elementary Education. She completed her student teaching at Riverview in the fall of 2023 and fit right in with the team!
Joining Big Rapids Middle School are:
Becca Horan, Social Studies Teacher - Ms. Horan is a familiar face at BRMS as she student-taught in Mr. Brejcha's class and filled in for an end-of-the-year assignment. We are excited that she's making BR her permanent home this fall!
Grant Horton, ELA Teacher - Grant is a graduate of Central Michigan University and has a passion for education. At CMU he was a part of the Club Swim and Dive team and the President of the Aspiring Educators of Central Michigan organization.
