At each monthly Big Rapids Public Schools Board meeting, an individual or group is recognized for their exceptional achievements and dedication to our school district.
For the September 9th, 2024, meeting, the Cardinal Pride Award was presented to Mr. Albie Todd, Band Director at BRMS.
Mr. Todd was honored for his significant contributions as part of the dedicated team of music educators at Big Rapids Public Schools and within the community. As previously announced, Big Rapids has been recognized by the NAMM Foundation as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for the seventh consecutive year. In 2024, only 21 districts across Michigan received this prestigious distinction.
Mr. Todd played a key role in securing this award by submitting detailed information on aspects such as funding, graduation requirements, student participation in music classes, instruction time, facilities, and support for both school and community music programs. His efforts, along with the contributions of our exceptional music educators, have helped Big Rapids earn this recognition.
Congratulations to all who support and contribute to music education in the Big Rapids community!
